Suzanne Collins was born on August 10, 1962, in Hartford, Connecticut, to Jane Brady Collins (born 1932) and Lt.Col. Michael John Collins (1931–2003). Suzanne wanted to be an actress but when this failed she began to write. Collins began her career in 1991 as a writer for children telivision. She worked on several television shows for Nickelodean, including Clarissa Explains It All, The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, Little Bear andd Oswald. After these television shows she decided she wanted to write a book this was going to be the first book of the Hungergames triologie and the book we chose for this site.
