Seven basic plots

The Hunger Games is the first book of a serie. In this book the most obvious plot is overcoming the monster. 

1. Anticipation Stage and Call.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    We first get to know the monster by what the main character, Katniss, thinks. She tells us about the capital the most riches of all. The rest are devided in 13 districts and she lives in one of the most poor districts. Every year the capital organises a fight where one girl and one boy from every district fights untill death. The last one standing wins and will never have to be poor again and will be spoiled by the capital. The capital has a leader who`s called snow and he is kind of a dictator. If you obey him in any way you`ll simply get killed. In this book the capital or Snow, is the monster. After we learn a few thing about this monster you also learn something about the anual Hunger Games. This year Katniss`s little sister is participating in the lottery. And suprise suprise her sister Prim is chosen to fight in The Hunger Games. Katniss gets so upset by this that she volunteers to take her place in the game. And that`s her call. 

2. Dream stage                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Right after the goodbyes with her family gets taken away by the capital for preperation. She gets washed and trained. The whole Hunger Game us a show on tv so every contestant gets a chance to shine. Popularity is very important if you want to survive. She and her male contestant Peeta made a big entrance with her dress wich is made of flames. Here is where she gets the name Katniss the girl on fire. This popularity is her chance this is where we all get our hopes up.  Altough the other contestent are far more trained then she is she is very strong with her bow.

We don`t get to see the monster. The monster is still watching how Katniss and Peeta are fighting in the arena. They both escape death a couple of times. And slowly we also get to see a little bit of resistance from people. Not only from Katniss but also from the people outside. After everything that happends in the game Peeta and Katniss survive together. One of them should kill the other, but they chose not to. They chose for suicide by eating berries. The capital can`t let this happen so they stop the game and they both win this years Hunger Games.
